What will you find here? Ramblings from an aging gamer-miniature painter. When I first started out in this hobby computers were in their infancy and finding other gamers could only be done by going to conventions or as in my case bumping into somebody who happened to see me reading "Panzer Leader" on the school bus. Look how far we have come! The internet has allowed our small community to be able to connect on a level I never dreamed of when I was but a small lad. What I do hope you will find here is something interesting from one wargamer/miniature painter to another. I paint miniatures somewhat decently, so I will be posting some pictures of my work, and perhaps a review or two of games and/or miniatures. Most of all this is just about having fun and anything I post here is meant to be for that reason.

My Infinity nightmare!!!

These Infinity miniatures are super fine detailed little buggers to paint.

My first try:

Looks like poop... I know. The bitch of the thing is I would simply throw it away and get another if the price of these babies wasn't so high. Fortunately a good Pine-Sol soaking will strip this crap with the help of a little tooth brush. Sigh.... It took so long to get to this point. Lesson learned is thin your paint out more, but more importantly use the bloody right paint pots.

My second try with a different model:
I just did one leg to try the new paints I picked up. I think the shading and layering worked much better. The main hull is going to be a bitch, but I'll just have to take my time.

What do you think?

Cheers
Kevin

  2. Quite honestly... I think painting those things is a waste of your talent. Heehee... Only my opinion.

    1. Skkiiippp, now, now. One can not make an omelet without breaking some eggs. So if your painting is always one dimensional how can you expect to get better without challenging ones self by trying different things?

The next time you look at Torok the Terrible warlord base I did for you, ask yourself how did he learn how to do that?

    2. I must admit that there is quite a difference between that first attempt with the yellow and the last.

Simply outstanding shading there. You are a master, there is no doubt.

I still disapprove of your talents going towards painting such sacrilege!

    3. Thanks Skip, I thought so as well (that it turned out better second time). Now ask me how long it took to do one leg! Ahhh!

I hear ya bro-ster, no worries Dark ages will forever be in my heart. Though I have to tell you it is quite refreshing to go from subject to subject if for nothing else than one's sanity.
