Blog discription

What will you find here? Ramblings from an aging gamer-miniature painter. When I first started out in this hobby computers were in their infancy and finding other gamers could only be done by going to conventions or as in my case bumping into somebody who happened to see me reading "Panzer Leader" on the school bus. Look how far we have come! The internet has allowed our small community to be able to connect on a level I never dreamed of when I was but a small lad. What I do hope you will find here is something interesting from one wargamer/miniature painter to another. I paint miniatures somewhat decently, so I will be posting some pictures of my work, and perhaps a review or two of games and/or miniatures. Most of all this is just about having fun and anything I post here is meant to be for that reason.

Battletech: Bulldog

Just a quick post today. Painted up four Herbold Transport tanks from Death Ray Design's (click Death Ray Design's to be taken to site) that I am going to use as proxies for Battletech's Bulldog tank.

Getting closer to having enough forces for two sides so I can run a campaign. I am looking forward to it.

As always thanks for looking.

Kell Hounds Heavy Metal

If it's not Kell Hound Heavy Metal, it's not Heavy Metal!

So this is what I worked on this week to take a break from building and painting Orklands Refueled cars.

Battletech has been near and dear to my heart for over thirty years. I love reading the books, their just like all those cheesy western lone gunfighter novels, or those I can solve every crime sleuth novels. I just can't get enough.

I've really started to enjoy Battletech back in the day when the  BattleForce rules came out. Where you can play company, battalion, and/or regimental size games in the same time it took you to play the game Battletech itself. I've always enjoyed more operational style games, and with the combination of giant robots and operational gaming, what's not to love?

Here are the two Kell Hound mechs I finished this week, one is a Thunderbolt, the other a Wolverine. I also shared a picture of the Lance together. One lance down, and two to go for my Company.

Orklands Refueled

So I am totally out of Warhammer 40K, but that doesn't mean that Orks aren't still near and dear to my heart. They are just so me, whacked out, crazy ass, fun lov'in, madman!

So it will come as no surprise when I saw one of my favorite bloggers make a post called Orklands Refueled, that it gave me a reason to collect some again. It's based off the rules set Gaslands Refueled. Now I had ZERO interest in doing anything Gaslands until I saw this, here is a link to his post about it Orklands Refueled .

So Jay and I have talked occasionally over the years, mostly when he posts something so super cool it causes my wallet to instantly catch on fire forcing me to pull it out of my pocket to buy this now!

So of course I contacted him over this to get all the super cool nitty gritty details on this. By the way he has posted on his blog rules modifications for this as well as several other cool rule sets. Once I got the information I needed I proceeded to buy six cars, and all the other paraphernalia along with recruiting a friend to 3D print tires for me.

I am so jazzed I built two model kits these past two weeks and painted them up. This leaves me four to go, but I am going to take a break this next week or so and paint something else to mix things up. But I for sure will be back to this.

I've eyeballed these cool vehicles for as long as they've been released, but had no reason to buy them being out of 40K. Then Jay came along... thanks man, these are super cool.

Just the names for these alone make them supercool;)

Rangers of Shadowdeep: Spiders

My buddy Rob is going to put on a game of Rangers of Shadowdeep at our local club convention. So I painted up a few spiders for his scenario. Of course I am going to play in it, so I needed some cool looking Spiders for my Ranger to battle, or let the other Rangers battle them so I can get all the goodies.... sounds like a plan;)

Mantic Games Abe

Sick as dog last week so didn't do much hobby wise. Just getting around to posting a few pictures of Abe for Mantic Games Hellboy. I'm working on the Frog monsters and I can have a few games with my grandkids.
