Blog discription

What will you find here? Ramblings from an aging gamer-miniature painter. When I first started out in this hobby computers were in their infancy and finding other gamers could only be done by going to conventions or as in my case bumping into somebody who happened to see me reading "Panzer Leader" on the school bus. Look how far we have come! The internet has allowed our small community to be able to connect on a level I never dreamed of when I was but a small lad. What I do hope you will find here is something interesting from one wargamer/miniature painter to another. I paint miniatures somewhat decently, so I will be posting some pictures of my work, and perhaps a review or two of games and/or miniatures. Most of all this is just about having fun and anything I post here is meant to be for that reason.

Flint and Feather: Iroquois War party

Been working on this project on and off for about a year and a half now. Yesterday I became motivated to finish this group of 14 Iroquois warriors which now gives me enough to play both sides. I completed the Huron War party last year.

I do want to add some villiagers and forest animals. I think I might do that this week.

As always thanks for looking.

Flint and Feather, some canoes!

Had these sitting around forever and every time my friend came over he’d ask, did you paint your canoes? Of course not I would say you know I can’t focus on one subject for more than a week.

So finally I knocked these guys out. Doesn’t make much sense doing the subject period without them. Now I have to go and find my forest animals and get them going.

Oh and I meant to use my bottle of water effects but found it had dried up into a hard lump. Oh well pictures for now until I get some.

As always thanks for looking.

Crucible Crush: Flint and Feather miniature game

Well I finished six more Indians for my Huron War Party for Flint and Feather, with three more to go to complete band. Then I get to paint the Iroquois. This will give me enough to put on games for both sides. These are wonderful sculpts by Crucible Crush and I enjoyed painting them. After looking at many drawings and doing some reading on face paint and tattoos I may have gotten a little creative but I like them. I like the last photo of the Shaman with his mask and cool magical turtle shell. Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Huron warrior and an Atlas from the Battletech world to on the completed shelf.

Overwhelmed and a little burned out from painting other peeps minis, I am all over the place on what I really want to focus on for me. I think I am going to finish my Huron's as I only have five figures to go. Then I will finish three more Kell Hound Mechs to flush out my Assault lance. Then I have to work my way back to painting some more figures for "other" peoples collections.

Below we have a Huron warrior with a warclub, and below that an Atlas Assault Mech for my Kell Hound lance. The 2nd wave of Kickstarter stuff is on it's way to me and this is probably why I am getting excited to paint some more Battletechs.

As always thanks for looking.

More Flint and Feather

So being that these are pre contact woodland Indians I had to really think about colors. The hardest part being the warpaint and tattoos. I want colors for this to be different for each Indian, but I also want them tied together for a theme. For me it will be easier to pick out who's who on the table top since it's Indian on Indian.

Here are my first four. I want 14 painted for each side, then after a few battles I can add more if I need to. I also have the Canoe set, and the woodland animals, and I definitely want that on the table.

Flint and Feather

I've been overwhelmed by different projects, but I got a little me time and painted up my first test Indian miniature from Crucible Crush. Their ruleset is called Flint and Feather. Haven't tried it out yet but if I turn out not to be a fan I'll use them for the ruleset Tribal.

These miniatures are pre contact and are nicely detailed. I thought how hard is it to paint half naked dudes. Turns out pretty hard! These guys got a lot of busy details and they take a bit of patients to paint up.

As always thanks for looking.
