So I had to switch it up right in the middle of painting my last needed foot battalion for the scenario I want to run. I just needed a break, so I painted up the first of four regiments of Cavalry for opposing force.
I normally just glue the riders on the horses and paint them because of my process of mounting them on paint holders. My normal is painting pre gun powder cavalry and there isn't as much fluff. It was more difficult getting in the nooks and crannies, plus I primed them in the only spray can I had at the moment, white. So there's that as well.
In the end I was still happy with how they turned out. But next time I will either get a can of black prime back in stock, or paint the riders separately.
So here is King James Life Guard.
I see why you took a break from the foot figures. These mounted look GREAT! A bit of color! (A lot of color!!) Very nice.
ReplyDeleteThe bases are a bit blah though. Not your normal dazzle.
Thanks Skip, yeah the bases are just plain for now for expedience, I need to get everything ready to play first and then I'll come back to them. The problem with these is they need special attention to where you place tufts and stuff or it will look ridiculous as the stands are magnetic and you can remove the the pieces and place other ones in their place, sooooooo......

Awesome looking cavalry, Kevin. Pretty cool how this king got wars named after him!
ReplyDeleteThanks Dean, it is a very interesting and unknown period to me which is why I am excited about it.
