I am normally a paint by numbers guy, and painting anything other than camouflage and what CB puts out as the “unofficial” official scheme for armies, is really a stretch for me.
So I left my comfort zone and tried something new. I saw a couple different styles out there and I combined them to come up with this (I have 3 Nox’s to show but finishing bases). I nearly just threw them away as I didn’t like where it was going and totally uncomfortable with bright colors.
Thank god there so damned expensive or I would not have stayed the course. Anyways the scheme grew on my a little as I went on, and here is my Charontid.
I have some other projects going on simultaneously, like some bicyclist's for Flamme Rouge for a friend, Greek hoplites that I am taking my time doing Bronze NMM approach and is painfully slow, and of course Infinity.
More to come.
Cheers
Kevin

What will you find here? Ramblings from an aging gamer-miniature painter. When I first started out in this hobby computers were in their infancy and finding other gamers could only be done by going to conventions or as in my case bumping into somebody who happened to see me reading "Panzer Leader" on the school bus. Look how far we have come! The internet has allowed our small community to be able to connect on a level I never dreamed of when I was but a small lad. What I do hope you will find here is something interesting from one wargamer/miniature painter to another. I paint miniatures somewhat decently, so I will be posting some pictures of my work, and perhaps a review or two of games and/or miniatures. Most of all this is just about having fun and anything I post here is meant to be for that reason.

Very interesting figure, Kevin. I had to view it closely and from the different angles to catch all of it.
ReplyDeleteI think it's Corvus Bellis take on the Alien Queen, at least that's what the head reminds me of.
