Blog discription

What will you find here? Ramblings from an aging gamer-miniature painter. When I first started out in this hobby computers were in their infancy and finding other gamers could only be done by going to conventions or as in my case bumping into somebody who happened to see me reading "Panzer Leader" on the school bus. Look how far we have come! The internet has allowed our small community to be able to connect on a level I never dreamed of when I was but a small lad. What I do hope you will find here is something interesting from one wargamer/miniature painter to another. I paint miniatures somewhat decently, so I will be posting some pictures of my work, and perhaps a review or two of games and/or miniatures. Most of all this is just about having fun and anything I post here is meant to be for that reason.

Greeks, Aliens, and cyclists! Oh my!

Whew! I finally finished, after five weeks, designing the vassal module for the reboot of Next War: Korea 2nd edition. Man I am glad I got through that.

So yesterday was my first full day of “do whatever” I want hobby time. I wasted none of it. I had primed all but two of my Greeks for “Mortal Gods” and I added some more flesh into them. I didn’t do my usual scheme and tried to just make a natural simple blend. Came out okay, but will look better with more paint on them.

Today I primed up some more of my Aliens for Infinity, and I took on a painting commission (I know, what was I thinking when I can’t even paint my own) for 12 cyclists from the game “Flamme Rouge” an early period of Tour de France type racing. Kind of like Formula de, but has cards and stuff. For those of you out there with kids, get this game they will love playing it with daddy and mommy. Watch them scream for joy as they crush you on a mountain climb and leave you behind gasping for breath. Okay, okay, I know I am a little into it.

That’s it for now, it’s picture time....

Cheers
Kevin

  1. Really nice looking paint blocks you have there!! And the holders!!!! Amazing! What a brilliant idea! Though I'd most likely make the blocks shorter... if it were me... just sayin. Hehehe.

    1. Ha! Indeed, I am busted. It's probably because I am a cyclist that I fell into the trap to do them at all;)
