Blog discription

What will you find here? Ramblings from an aging gamer-miniature painter. When I first started out in this hobby computers were in their infancy and finding other gamers could only be done by going to conventions or as in my case bumping into somebody who happened to see me reading "Panzer Leader" on the school bus. Look how far we have come! The internet has allowed our small community to be able to connect on a level I never dreamed of when I was but a small lad. What I do hope you will find here is something interesting from one wargamer/miniature painter to another. I paint miniatures somewhat decently, so I will be posting some pictures of my work, and perhaps a review or two of games and/or miniatures. Most of all this is just about having fun and anything I post here is meant to be for that reason.

Showcase: Infinity: Nomad... Grenzers

Well whatever I had over the holidays not only wiped me out, but my motivation to paint as well. These last two days or so I am just now starting to feel like doing it again. The thought of it before was like..... well for no better word, bla!

This Grenzer is the last figure I had to paint from Infinity's "Operation: Icestorm" box set. The figure didn't really excite me so I kind of stared at it for a long time not doing anything with it. Well my change in heart to push myself to get this one done was because of the Multi Sniper rifle he is equipped with. It was a must have piece of equipment to go up against my arch rival Rob with his Panoceania faction.

So of course I had to paint him up standing on a crushed helmet of a Panoceania dude. Quite fitting I thought. Anyways I hope you like what I have done with it.

Cheers, and thanks for looking

  2. Outstanding work! His front is mostly black, yet not black at all! The shading is spectacular. When I got to the shot of his back I was surprised, "this cannot be the same figure" I thought to myself. Amazing. The helmet underfoot is truly the perfect touch!
